About Me

Hi! I’m Maria, compassion and honesty are the values that guide my life and my practice. I’m a therapist in my mid 30s that has lived many experiences, adventures, heartbreak, joy, and sadness. When I was a teenager I suffered a difficult event that led me to therapy; and that event and the therapeutic process changed my outlook on life and gave me a purpose… to help others heal themselves. I discovered that after the pain, there is transformation; and healing can be a beautiful thing.

I studied psychology, and after many years of education and training became a skilled therapist. Now I have my private counseling practice and for more than six years I’ve had the privilege to sit down with my clients and listen to them open up about the most important aspects of their lives; relationships, stress, anxiety, trauma, sexuality, self esteem issues, and it’s an honor for me to be part of their journey towards healing and thriving.  

I’m fascinated by human nature and behavior, and passionate about helping others fulfill their potential, gain clarity, find their emotional balance and wellbeing, let go of anger and hurt, and create the life they want for themselves. I have a positive outlook on life, not in a cheesy kind of way; but I strongly believe that every experience –good and bad- shapes us and teaches us valuable lessons. 

Aside from being a therapist, I’m a passionate traveler, Zumba enthusiast, karaoke aficionado, and nature and animal lover. I’m a daughter, sister, wife, dog mom, friend, and expat who enjoys the small big things that make life worthwhile and believes in magic- the one that lives within us.
